Regina Senior Guard Miller Named RVC South Division Player of the Year

Class 2A second-ranked Regina will open postseason play Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday morning the Regals began to reap the rewards of an impressive regular season.
Regina senior Morgan Miller was named River Valley Conference South Division player of the year for the second consecutive season to highlight a list of five Regals to earn all-division honors when the conference released its postseason awards.
Miller joined freshman Addie McLaughlin as unanimous South Division first team picks after helping Regina to a 20-1 regular season that included a perfect 12-0 mark against RVC South Division opponents.
The 5-foot-6 senior guard averaged 20.5 points, 4.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 steals per game while shooting 58 percent from the floor and 82 percent from the free throw line.
Addie McLaughlin averaged 17.8 points, a team-high 5.8 assists, 4.3 steals and 4 rebounds per game while earning first-team all-RVC divisional honors in her first season.
Seniors Ella McLaughlin and Caitlin Martin were both named to the RVC South Division second team.
Ella McLaughlin averaged 10.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game and Martin averaged 9.1 points, a team-high 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
Sophomore Adalee Klein was an honorable mention pick in the South Division.
Regina coach Mary Rogers was named South Division coach of the year after leading the Regals to the South Division title.
West Branch junior Kennedy Simpson was named to the RVC South Division second team after leading the Bears in scoring and ranking third on the team in rebounds.
Simpson averaged 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Junior Addi Schultes earned honorable mention status in the South Division.
