Solon will bring a three-game winning streak into its postseason opener on Saturday.

The Spartans closed the regular season with a 61-25 win over Vinton-Shellsburg on Tuesday in a WAMAC Conference cross-divisional contest in Vinton.

Solon improved to 11-10 on the season with its third consecutive victory while Vinton-Shellsburg dropped to 5-17.

Kobi Lietz led three Solon players in double figures with a game-high 16 points.

Freshmen Beckett Kruse and Quinn Armentrout had 13 and 11 points respectively and Jerzey Haluska had eight for the Spartans.

Laney Johnson added seven points and Laeni Hinkle had six points.

Grace Fish had 10 points to lead Vinton-Shellsburg.

Solon opens Class 3A regional play on Saturday hosting Davenport Assumption at 7 p.m.
