Da’Shon Fisher
Former Liberty High standout and current Des Moines Area Community College sophomore Da’Shon Fisher was named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference athlete of the week on Wednesday.
Fisher had a combined 39 points and 19 rebounds while helping DMACC to a pair of wins on his way to earning ICCAC athlete of the week honors for the second time this season.
The 6-foot-2 guard had 21 points and nine rebounds and two assists in a 94-92 win over Iowa Western Community College and had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 94-81 win over Ellsworth.
On the season Fisher leads the Bears in scoring at 15.4 points while shooting 59 percent from the field including 34 percent from 3-point range while averaging 4.5 rebounds per game.
Karsyn Stratton
Clear Creek Amana graduate and current Quincy University senior Karsyn Stratton had a big week while helping the Hawks to a pair of wins.
Stratton averaged 12.5 points, five assists and three rebounds in wins over William Jewell College and Truman State University as Quincy improved to 14-5 on the season and 8-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
Stratton had eight points, four assists and three rebounds in an 89-67 win over William Jewell on Thursday and had 17 points, six assists and three rebounds in an 82-69 win over Truman State on Saturday.
On the season Stratton is averaging 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and a team-high 3.3 assists per game.
Ben Kueter
City High graduate and current Iowa freshman Ben Kueter had a key win over a top-10 ranked opponent to help second-ranked Iowa to a 24-13 dual win over fourth-ranked Ohio State on Saturday in Iowa City.
Kueter posted a 5-4 win over sixth-ranked Nick Feldman of Ohio State to cap the win for the Hawkeyes.
The win over Feldman improved Kueter to 10-2 on the season.
