Boys Basketball Roundup: Strong Second Half Lifts Solon Past No. 10 Mount Vernon

Solon continued its January surge extended its winning streak to six with a 58-41 win over Class 3A No. 10 Mount Vernon on Friday in a WAMAC East Division contest in Solon.
The Spartans outscored Mount Vernon 41-15 in the second half to erase a nine-point halftime deficit while improving to 9-4 on the season and 4-2 in WAMAC East Division play.
Mount Vernon dropped to 11-3 and 4-2 WAMAC East games.
Grant Gordon led four Solon players in double figures with 16 points while Maddox Kelley added 11 points for the Spartans.
Nolan Seagren and Caleb Bock each had 10 points and Isaiah Zoske had nine points for Solon.
Josef Briesemeister had 16 points and Kellen Haverback had 12 points for Mount Vernon.
