One of the leaders of the Solon offensive line the past three seasons has made a decision on his football future.
Solon senior offensive lineman Grant Wilson announced his commitment to Ellsworth Community College with a post on social media on Thursday.
“I am blessed to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Ellsworth,” Wilson wrote on X. “I can’t thank everyone who has helped me through this process enough. I can’t wait to get started.”
A three-year starter at center, Wilson helped Solon to a combined 26-8 record over the past three seasons a stretch that includes a pair of quarterfinal appearances and a trip to the 3A semifinals in 2023.
Wilson earned all-state honors each of his final two seasons including last fall when he was a Class 3A first-team all-state selection.
The 5-foot-11, 245-pound Wilson helped Solon average 31.6 points, 184 rushing yards and 363 total yards per game last fall as the Spartans went 8-3.
Wilson also had a career-high 18.5 tackles including 10 solo stops as a defensive lineman.
