Fresh off back-to-back wins over ranked teams Liberty High moved up two spots in the most recent basketball rankings released on Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Liberty High (11-3) moved up to No. 10 in the Class 5A rankings after consecutive wins over 4A third-ranked Maquoketa and 5A No. 11 Cedar Falls earlier this week.

The Lightning are behind ninth-ranked City High (10-4) which moved up one spot this week.

West High (10-5) dropped two spots to No. 11 in the latest rankings.

Clear Creek Amana (8-5) remained No. 12 in the Class 4A rankings and Regina (13-1) held its spot at No. 3 in the Class 2A rankings.

Top-ranked teams this week are Johnston in Class 5A, Sioux City Heelan in Class 4A, Mount Vernon in Class 3A, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in Class 2A and Council Bluffs St. Albert in Class 1A.
