Justin Avila and Matthew Tran won individual titles and Alexander Pierce added a runner-up finish to lead West High to an eighth-place team finish at the Don Miller Invitational in Fort Dodge on Saturday.

West High finished with 105.5 points while Humboldt won the team title with 217.5 to outdistance Algona which was runner-up with 204.5.

Tran won the 126-pound title with a third-period pin of Isaac Wilson of Algona while Avila won a 4-1 decision over Isaac Bruhl of Ankeny Centennial in sudden victory in the 150-pound title match.

Pierce finished runner-up at 120 pounds falling to Ankeny Centennial’s Cale Vandermark in the title match.

Randal Kelly finished third at 285 pounds for West High while Charles Barnhouse was fifth at 126 pounds and Campbell Janis was sixth at 157 pounds for the Trojans.
