Class 3A third-ranked Dubuque Wahlert downing Class 5A No. 15 Liberty High 56-47 in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional battle of ranked teams in Dubuque.
Dubuque Wahlert improved to 2-0 with the win while Liberty High dropped to 3-1 on the season with the loss.

Natalie Ramsey led Liberty High with 29 points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

Janessa Mosley had 10 points and Morgan Bennett had five points and five rebounds for the Lightning.

Kennedy Goodheart had three points and three assists and Natalie Schechinger had four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
