The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts.
Lauren Riggle
Former Clear Creek Amana standout and current Loras College senior forward Lauren Riggle helped the Duhawks complete an unbeaten regular season and secure a fourth consecutive American Rivers Conference regular season title last week with a 3-0 win over Central College.
Riggle scored her 11th goal of the season in the title-clinching win over Central and ranks third in the ARC in both goals and total points (27) this season.
Loras is ranked No. 13 nationally in the United Soccer Coache Division III poll and opens ARC tournament play on Wednesday.
Cael O’Neill
Solon graduate and current Wartburg placekicker Cael O’Neill broke the career record for made PATs in a 49-10 win over Luther College on Saturday in Waverly.
O’Neill made all seven of his PAT attempts in the win to push his career total to 157, breaking the previous record of 151 set by Jordan Maus from 2001 to 2004.
On the season O’Neill has converted 4-of-5 field goal attempts and 32-of-35 PATs while helping Wartburg to a 7-1 record and a No. 12 ranking in Division III.
Makayla Ribble
City High graduate and current Central College junior Makayla Ribble helped the Dutch split a pair of American River Conference matches last week.
Ribble had 18 assists and three digs in a four-set win over Wartburg on Friday and had a team-high 22 assists, three ace serves and 13 digs in a four-set loss to Coe College on Saturday.
On the season Ribble ranks second on the team with 463 assists and has 27 ace serves and 163 digs while helping Central to a 19-8 record.
