Clear Creek Amana Junior Henderson Named WAMAC West Division Player of the Year

Clear Creek Amana secured a spot at the state tournament for the third consecutive season on Tuesday evening with a regional final win over Dallas Center-Grimes.
On Wednesday the Clippers began to rake in the rewards for another impressive season.
Clear Creek Amana had eight players earn all-division honors when the WAMAC Conference released its postseason awards on Wednesday.
Junior setter Emily Henderson was named WAMAC West Division player of the year to headline the list of eight Clippers to earn all-division recognition.
Henderson joined junior Averie Lower, sophomore Bailey Simpson and senior Kylie Koehn on the West Division first team.
The 5-foot-8 Henderson was a unanimous West Division first team pick after leading the Clippers with 853 assists and 42 ace serves.
Henderson added 280 digs, 44 blocks and 91 kills while directing the Clippers to a 37-7 record and a fourth consecutive WAMAC West Division title.
Simpson and Lower each joined Henderson as unanimous West Division first-team picks.
Lower led Clear Creek Amana with 376 kills on .258 hitting and ranked second on the team with 297 digs.
Simpson ranked second on the team with 204 kills while hitting .242 and ranked second with 67 blocks.
Koehn led the Clippers with 299 digs on her way to earning first-team West Division honors.
Juniors Sariah Sherman and Elizabeth Timmerman were both named to the West Division second team.
Sherman was third on the team with 155 kills and led Clear Creek Amana with 71 blocks while Timmerman was fourth on the team with 151 kills and added 28 blocks and 112 digs.
Seniors Kendra Eckrich and Olivia Webb each earned West Division honorable mention honors for Clear Creek Amana
Solon had four players named to the WAMAC East Division teams.
Senior Grace Erwin was a first-team pick while senior Yasmine Sell was named to the East Division second team.
Erwin led Solon in kills (204), hitting efficiency (.437) and blocks (93) and added 24 ace serves.
Sell ranked second team the team with 203 kills on .285 hitting and had 38 blocks.
Juniors Kennedey Whitford and Jozie Lahr each earned honorable mention status in the East Division for Solon.
