For the fourth year in a row City High is headed to the state cross country meet.

City High earned its spot at the Class 4A state meet with a runner-up finish at the 4A state qualifier held at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf on Wednesday.

The Little Hawks had five runners finish in the top 15 on their way to a runner-up team finish.

Top-ranked Pleasant Valley won the team title with 17 points followed by sixth-ranked City High with 50 and No. 13 Waukee with 71 points.

Abigail Burns led City High with a sixth-place finish in a time of 19:11.

Sophomore Grace Hamann finished eighth in a time of 19:25 and freshman Eliza Doster was 11^th in 19:28.

Seniors Nicole and Nina Peterson finished 12^th and 13^th for City High respectively.
