Boys Cross Country Roundup: City High Cruises to Title at State Qualifier to Return to 4A State Meet

After a one-year hiatus City High is headed back to the state cross country meet and the Little Hawks earned their return trip in dominating fashion.
Third-ranked City High put four runners in the top 10 and cruised to the team title at the 4A state qualifying meet at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf on Wednesday.
City High won the team title with 41 points while No. 12 Waukee and seventh-ranked Bettendorf finish second and third with 73 points.
Linus McRoberts led a group of four Little Hawks in the top 10 with an individual runner-up finish in a time of 16:08.
Max McDowell finished fifth in 16:20, Emmett Palmberg was eighth in 16:26 and George Karr placed ninth in 16:26 for City High.
David Randall added a 17th place finish for City High which had a string of three consecutive state meet appearances end last season.
