Cam Miller
Former Solon standout and current North Dakota State senior quarterback Cam Miller led a late touchdown drive to lift the Bison to a 13-9 win over top-ranked South Dakota State.
Miller completed 20-of-27 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 24 yards as North Dakota State improved to 7-1 on the season with its seventh consecutive win.
Miller threw the go-ahead 20-yard touchdown pass with 1:49 remaining to cap a 10-play, 92-yard drive.
On the season Miller has completed 76 percent of his passes throwing for 1,667 yards and 14 touchdowns and has rushed for 252 yards and six touchdowns.
Cael O’Neill
Solon graduate and current Wartburg senior placekicker Cael O’Neill hit a pair of field goals in a 46-21 win over Simpson College on Saturday in Waverly.
O’Neill hit both of his field goal attempts in the win, connecting from 41 and 40 yards as Wartburg improved to 5-1 on the season.
The senior also was 5-of-6 on PAT attempts in the win.
On the season O’Neill is 4-of-4 on field goal attempts and 23-of-26 on PATs.
Christian Montover
Liberty High graduate and current Luther College junior Christian Montover led the Norse to a 10th place finish at the Jim Drews Invitational on Saturday at the University of Wisconson-La Crosse.
Montover was the top Luther finisher, placing 62nd overall in a time of 26:47.6 in the 8k race.
