West High Pitcher Cherry Commits to Bethany Lutheran

The leader of the West High pitching staff has announced plans for his baseball future.
West High senior left-hander Kyle Cherry announced his commitment to Bethany Lutheran College on Monday with a post on social media.
“I’m excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Bethany Lutheran College,” Cherry wrote on X. “Thanks to everyone for all the help along the way.”
A stalwart in the Trojan rotation the last two years Cherry is coming off a breakthrough junior season in which he ranked third in Class 4A with 12 starts and fourth with 65 2/3 innings pitched.
Cherry went 6-5 last season with a 2.98 ERA and 1.39 WHIP while striking out 56 and walking 29 in 65 2/3 innings.
Already a three-year varsity contributor Cherry owns a 10-8 career record and 3.89 career ERA and has 105 career strikeouts.
