Gavin Hierseman
Former West Branch standout and current Central College senior defensive back Gavin Hierseman had four tackles in a 35-10 win over California Lutheran on Saturday in Thousand Oaks, California.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Hierseman had three solo stops among his four tackles and also broke Hierseman ranks seventh on the team in tackles and solo tackles through two games.
Gabbie Schroeder
Liberty High graduate and current Drake junior Gabbie Schroeder had a season-high seven digs in a sweep of Little Rock on Saturday in the final match of the Ole Miss Invitational in Oxford, Mississippi.
Schroeder added two ace serves in the three-set sweep of Little Rock as Drake went 1-2 at the two-day tournament and improved to 2-6 on the season.
Schroeder had 11 digs in three matches in Mississippi and has 18 digs in five matches this season to go with five ace serves.
Hailey Hested
Liberty High graduate and current Mount Mercy senior setter Hailey Hested had 117 assists in three matches over the weekend at the St. Ambrose Tournament in Davenport.
Hested had 55 assists in a five-set loss to Judson (Illinois) on Friday and had 35 assists in a four-set loss to host St. Ambrose on Saturday.
The 5-foot-7 Hested leads the Mustangs with 651 assists and ranks second on the team with 202 digs to go with 34 kills and 11 ace serves while helping Mount Mercy to a 5-10 record.
