Girls Cross Country Roundup: Fifth-ranked Solon Opens Season With Team Title at Anamosa Invitational

Class 3A fifth-ranked Solon put three runners in the top 15 on its way to winning the team title at the Anamosa Invitational on Saturday morning at Anamosa middle school.
Senior Sydney Dee finished fourth and freshman Kinley Mai was fifth as Solon won the team title with 55 points.
Class 3A No. 17 Washington was runner-up with 60 points followed by 2A No. 13 Sumner-Fredericksburg with 84 points and Muscatine with 119 points.
Dee was fourth in a time of 21:16.8 while Mau was right behind also at 21:16.8.
Sophomore Ava Rolwes finished 15th in 22:48.1 while senior Ella Sheeley placed 17th in a time of 23:08.1.
Sophomore Falyn Svalstad placed 20th in 23:30.4 and freshman Livya Nelson was 21st in 23:33.6 for the Spartans.
