Boys Cross Country Roundup: Michels Finishes Third to Lead Solon at Anamosa Invitational

Spencer Michels finished third to lead Solon to a third-place team finish at the Anamosa Invitational on Saturday morning at Anamosa Middle School.
Michels finished behind the Cedar Rapids Kennedy junior duo of Slader Buckheister and Lincoln Mcmahan in a time of 18:00.2.
Class 4A No. 11 Cedar Rapids Kennedy won the team title with 29 points followed by 2A No. 12 Anamosa with 79 points.
Class 3A No. 16 Solon finished third with 82 points while Muscatine was fourth with 93 and 3A No. 14 Washington was fifth with 103 points.
Freshman Anders Holmes finished 12th for Solon in a time of 18:56.6 and junior Rene Meza was 18th in 19:25.9 for the Spartans.
The Spartans had six runners in the top 27 as freshman Deacon Waddell finished 25th, senior Evan Burg was 26th and junior Camden Lyons was 27th.
