City High stormed back from a first-set loss to down Waterloo West 23-25, 25-22, 25-11, 25-21 on Tuesday in a season-opening Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division match in Waterloo.

Sophomore Kaitlin Loria led City High with 15 kills while sophomore Hattie Galloway added 10 kills and senior Emmy McComas had eight.

Freshman setter Hazel Schuckebier handed out 36 assists and had a team-high four blocks and four ace servers for the Little Hawks.

McComas had five aces and Galloway and senior McKenzie Brown each had two blocks.

Jada Smith led Waterloo West with 17 kills and Ava Jones had 11 kills for the WaHawks.
