City High senior signal caller Bobby Bacon announced his commitment to Division 2 Pittsburg State with a post on social media on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Bacon emerged last season as one of the most productive quarterbacks in the state last fall in a breakthrough junior season.
Bacon set single season school records for completions and passing yards last year while directing City High to a 6-2 record in eight games as a starter.

Bacon also rushed for three touchdowns last season.
After taking over as the full-time starter in week three, Bacon averaged 257 passing yards per game, throwing for better than 300 yards three times and throwing three or more touchdowns passes three times.
Bacon ranked in the top-10 in Class 5A in passer rating (155.6), completion percentage, passing yards, passing touchdowns and yards per completion (15.6) last season.
He was first in passer rating, second in completion percentage, fourth in yards per completion, sixth in yards and seventh in touchdowns.
Pittsburg State is located in Pittsburg, Kansas and is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
The Gorillas went 11-2 last season and were 12-1 in 2022 advancing to the second round of the NCAA playoffs each season.
