On Tuesday evening Solon completed an improbable run through the regional tournament by earning its first trip to the state softball tournament since 2016.

Wednesday morning several Spartans received addition good news in the form of some postseason accolades.

Solon had four players earn all-division honors when the WAMAC Conference announced it postseason awards on Wednesday.

Juniors Addie Miller and Izzy Frees were each named to the East Division first team while seniors Kayla Meseck and Bailey Woolley each earned honorable mention honors.

Miller was named to the East Division first team as a catcher after leading Solon with a .402 batting average, 17 extra-base hits, six home runs, 34 RBI and 14 walks.

Frees was a first-team pick as an outfield after hitting .386 with 33 runs scored, 11 doubles, three triples, 18 RBI and 17 stolen bases.

Clear Creek Amana had seven players earn all-division honors in the West Division highlighted by first-team selections Kyla Schulte and Reese Stockman.

Schulte was a first-team pick in the West Division as an outfielder and led Clear Creek Amana in batting average (.439), hits (54), extra-base hits (21), doubles (17), RBI (59) and slugging percentage (.675) and OPS (1.157).

Stockman, a senior shortstop, was a first-team West Division utility selection following a season in which she hit .387 with 41 runs scored, 12 doubles, 19 RBI and a team-high 16 walks to go with a .489 on-base percentage.

Sophomores Lizzie Pasbrig and Elizabeth Timmerman and senior Aeslyn Massey were all second-team all-division picks for the Clippers.

Timmerman was a second-team pick as a pitcher after posting a 13-5 record, 2.15 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while striking out 82 in 91 innings.

Massey earned second-team honors at catcher after hitting .336 with 10 extra-base hits, 21 RBI and a team-high 42 runs scored.

Pasbrig was a second-team selection as an infielder after hitting .385 and leading the Clippers with seven home runs and ranking second on the team with 57 RBI.

Senior Addesyn Campbell and sophomore Brenna Williams were both honorable mention picks for Clear Creek Amana.
