Softball Roundup: No. 9 Western Dubuque Rallies Past Clear Creek Amana in Regional Final

Clear Creek Amana had Western Dubuque on the ropes a couple of times on Tuesday.
Both times the Bobcats battled back.
Ninth-ranked Western Dubuque scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to erase a 1-0 CCA lead and added two more runs in the sixth on its way to a 4-3 win over No. 10 Clear Creek Amana in the Class 4A, Region 7 title game at Farley Community Park.
Western Dubuque (30-9) will face top-ranked North Polk (36-4) in a 4A quarterfinal on Monday at 4:45 p.m. at Rogers Sports Complex in Fort Dodge.
Clear Creek Amana closed the season 25-13.
Clear Creek Amana struck quickly on Tuesday taking a 1-0 lead when senior shortstop Reese Stockman doubled with two outs in the first inning and scored on an RBI single by Kyla Schulte.
It remained 1-0 until the Bobcats took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Clear Creek Amana answered quickly, retaking the lead 3-2 in the top of the sixth when Aeslyn Massey led off the inning with a single and scored on an RBI double by Stockman.
Stockman scored on an RBI single by Lizzy Pasbrig that gave the Clippers a 3-2 lead.
Western Dubuque responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning and Clear Creek Amana couldn’t must a rally in the seventh.
Stockman was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI to lead Clear Creek Amana while Shulte was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
