South Division Champion Regina Has Nine Players Earn RVC All-Division Honors

Two-time defending state champion Regina opened postseason play on Wednesday evening.
First the Regals reaped the rewards for another impressive regular season.
River Valley Conference South Division champion Regina had nine players earn all-division honors, including a trio of first-team selections when the conference released its postseason awards this week.
Senior outfield Avery Kies was named co-South Division player of the year along with Wilton senior Catie Hook to highlight the three first-team honorees for Regina.
A first team all-division pick as an outfield Kies led Regina with a .490 batting average, a .540 on-base percentage and 26 stolen bases.
Kies had seven extra-base hits, scored 34 runs and drove in 12 runs on her way to earning player of the year honors.
Senior shortstop Gabby Sueppel and freshman pitcher Lily Nibaur joined Kies on the South Division first team.
Seniors Alli Clark and Morgan Gahan and juniors Reese Litton, Laci Chambliss and Natalie Gahan were all named to the South Division second team while sophomore Harper Erwin earned honorable mention honors.
Sueppel batted .367 with 10 doubles and 27 RBI and scored 25 runs to earn first team honors.
Nibaur was a first-team pick as a pitcher after posting a 10-7 record with a 2.22 ERA while striking out 112 in 113 1/3 innings.
The freshman also batted .326 with five doubles and a team-high 30 RBI.
Clark was a second-team selection as an infielder after hitting .414 with 11 extra-base hits, 21 RBI and a team-high 35 runs scored.
Morgan Gahan was a second-team pick as an outfield after hitting .389 with 10 doubles, 21 runs scored and 29 RBI while Chambliss landed on the second-team as a catcher after hitting .250 with 18 walks, six doubles and 10 RBI.
Litton was a second-team pick at pitcher after going 9-5 with a 4.12 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 73 innings while also hitting .272 with 18 RBI.
Natalie Gahan was a second-team utility selection after scoring 11 runs and driving in eight runs.
West Branch senior Alyse Klinkkammer was named to the South Division second team as an infielder while eighth-grader Lander Malloy earned honorable mention status.
Klinkkammer hit a team-leading .476 and led the Bears in hits (50), runs (22), doubles (11), on-base percentage (.526) and slugging percentage (.581) and was second on the team with 10 walks and also drove in 14 runs.
