Baseball Roundup: Koch Helps Regina Down Class 3A Ninth-ranked Solon

Hudson Koch tossed six strong innings to lead Regina to a 5-2 win over Class 3A ninth-ranked Solon on Wednesday in a non-conference contest in Iowa City.
Koch allowed just two runs on three hits while striking out three and walking four as Regina improved to 14-16 on the season.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Solon and dropped the Spartans to 21-10 on the season.
Connor Nicpon led Regina going 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored while Alex Paul was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
Trey Streb had two hits and Jack Clark had a hit and drove in a run for the Regals.
Michael Martin scored a run and threw a scoreless seventh inning to earn the save for Regina.
Kaden Hanson took the loss for Solon allowing five runs, one earned, on nine hits while walking one.
Brett Whit had two hits and scored a run for Solon and Vince Steinbrech had two hits for the Spartans.
Nolan Seagren walked twice and scored a run and Maddox Kelley had a hit and drove in a run.
