One of the top juniors in the state has made a decision on her volleyball future.
Regina junior Reese Naeve announced her commitment to Iowa State on Saturday evening with a post on social media.
“I am extremely blessed to announce my commitment to continue my academic and volleyball career at Iowa State University,” Naeve wrote on X. “I would like to give a special thank you to my coach Lauren Hansen for helping me become the person and the player I am today. Thank you to all my amazing coaches at Iowa Rockets, I wouldn’t be where I am now without all of you. Thank you to my parents for always believing in me and supporting my dreams and my friends and teammates for their positivity and support.”
Naeve has been among the productive hitters in the state over the past two seasons.
The 5-foot-9 Naeve has racked up more than 1,000 kills in her first two prep seasons earning all-state honors each of the past two years.
Naeve had 442 kills as a freshman and ranked third in the state with 600 kills a year ago on her way to earning third-team all-state honors as a sophomore.
An explosive athlete, Naeve hit .341 last season and led Regina in digs (409), ace serves (60) and had 29 blocks while helping Regina to a 26-11 record and a top-15 ranking in Class 2a last season.
Naeve is also a state track medalist this spring finishing runner-up in the Class 2A high jump clearing 5-4 and adding a fourth-place finish in the 100 hurdles in 15.55.
