Add a few more achievements to the list for Liberty High in a season already filled with firsts for the Lightning program.

Following the best season in program history that included single season record for wins and the first trip to the state tournament the Lightning had three players named to the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association all-state teams when the organization released its postseason awards.

Liberty High senior Eno Ituk was a first-team Class 2A all-state selection while junior Rilyn Breinholt and sophomore Callie Stanley were each second team picks after helping the Lightning to a 13-5 record and a spot in the 2A state quarterfinals.

Ituk had two goals and two assists from her defender spot and was a key piece of a Liberty High defense that allowed 15 goals on the season and posted 11 shutouts.

Breinholt had a team-high 20 goals and added six assists while Stanley had seven goals and five assists for the Lightning.

City High senior Maclayne Menzel was a first-team selection in Class 3A after helping the Little Hawks to a 13-4 record and a spot in a 3A regional final.

Menzel had a career-high 21 goals to lead the Little Hawks and added nine assists.

West High senior Serene Hamzeh was an honorable mention pick in Class 3A after helping the Trojans to an 11-5 record.

Hamzeh had five goals and a team-high 10 assists for West High.

Regina senior Gabby Sueppel was a second-team all-state pick in Class 1A

Sueppel led Regina with 10 goals and eight assists to help the Regals to an 8-10 record.
