Clear Creek Amana Junior Ebdala Named WAMAC West Division Player of the Year

An impressive season netted a big-time away for Clear Creek Amana junior Abdala Ebdala.
Ebdala was named WAMAC West Division player of the year following a breakthrough season in which he led the Clippers in goals while helping Clear Creek Amana to an 11-5 record and a spot in a Class 3A substate final.
The player of the year honors for Ebdala highlighted a group of nine Clippers to earn all-West Division honors when the conference released its postseason awards.
Ebdala scored a team-high 15 goals in 15 matches this season and added four assists for the Clippers.
Senior Evan Streit, sophomore Abner Godoy-Pacheco and freshman Aiden Gross joined Ebdala on the WAMAC West Division first team.
Godoy-Pacheco ranked second on the team with 13 goals and added seven assists for the Clippers while Streit had five goals and four assists.
Gross was one of only four players to start all 16 games for Clear Creek Amana during an impressive debut season.
Seniors Cade Mineart and Luke Niblo and sophomore Jordan Alavez all earn second team all-West Division honors.
Alavez had a team-high 11 assists and scored five goals and Mineart had five goals and tied for second on the team with seven assists.
Niblo made 61 saves in goal and allowed 23 goals posting five shutouts.
Senior Jake Carlson and sophomore Sam Strank were both honorable mention selections in the West Division.
Solon had six players earn all-division honors in the WAMAC East headlined by seniors Josiah Hale and Eli Freerks who were both named to the East Division first team.
Freerks ranked second on the team with 10 goals and four assists while Hale had three goals and an assist for the Spartans.
Sophomore Ryan Locke earned second-team all-East Division honors after leading the Spartans with 11 goals and added three goals and freshman Collin McKie was also named to the East Division second team.
Senior Bryan Petrie and sophomore Caden Mai each earned East Division honorable mention status.
