City High and Solon are both top-six teams in the most recent baseball rankings released on Monday by the Iowa High Baseball Coaches Association.

Both teams open the week with conference doubleheaders against teams ranked ahead of them.

City High (14-2) is third in the most recent Class 4A rankings and travels to second-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy (14-1) for a Mississippi Valley Conference doubleheader on Monday.

Solon (9-2) is sixth in the most recent Class 3A rankings released on Monday and will host third-ranked Marion (12-0) in a WAMAC East Division doubleheader Monday.

Liberty High (9-4) was among five other teams mentioned in the Class 4A rankings coming in just outside the 4A top 10.

Top-ranked teams this week are Johnston in Class 4A, Western Dubuque in Class 3A, Underwood in Class 2A and Burlington Notre Dame in Class 1A.
