Your Prep Sports
Solon battled driving rain for two holes and ultimately dropped a dual meet to North Scott by six shots on Monday at Saddleback Golf Course in Solon.
In the process the Spartans turned in the best nine-hole round in program history.
Solon shot a school-record 166 on Monday in its final regular season round of the year before competing in the Class 3A regional on Wednesday.
“It was nice to get one last meet in before our regional meet on the 15th,” Solon coach Curtis Hendrickson said. “The conditions at the beginning were horrible, the girls played through them and we shot our new school record. It was nice to see how deep our lineup can be!”
Rylie Greazel and Bailey Woolley each shot 41 to lead the Spartans while Izzy Frees carded a 42 for Solon.
All six Spartans shot 45 or better on Monday as Peyton Pentico shot a 42 and Sydney Dee and Mya Miller each shot 45.
