Boys Golf Roundup: West Branch Finishes Runner-up at Class 2A, Sectional 8 Meet; Advances to District Meet

West Branch had three golfers finish in the top-15 and finished runner-up at the Class 2A, Sectional 8 meet on Tuesday at Kalona Golf Course in Kalona.
The Bears shot a 336 to finish eighth strokes behind team champion West Liberty and earned a spot at the Class 2A District meet at Pleasant Valley Golf Course on May 13 at 9 a.m.
Paxton Tisinger, McGavin Smith and Bryce Anderson all posted top-15 finishes for the Bears as West Branch finished one stroke in front of Tipton for the final district spot.
Host Mid-Prairie was fourth with a 347 followed by Mediapolis with a 353 and Regina with a 355.
Tisinger shot an 80 to finish fifth while Smith shot an 82 to finish in seventh place for the Bears.
Anderson finished 14th with an 86 and Reece Druecker and Sawyer Jeffries each shot 88 for West Branch.
Regina’s Noah Clark secured a spot at the District meet, shooting a 77 to finish third overall.
