Senior Cori Mac and sophomore Natalie Ramsey had big days to help Liberty High to a runner-up finish at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Divisional Meet on Friday at Cedar Falls High School.

Mac posted three top-three individual finishes while Ramsey won two events and finished in the top six in two others as Liberty High rolled up 147.5 points to finish behind team champion Cedar Rapids Prairie.

Cedar Falls was third with 141.5 points followed by Dubuque Senior with 106 and Dubuque Wahlert with 104.

Ramsey won the long jump (16-1 ¼) and was sixth in the high jump (4-8)

She added a title in the 400 (58.99) and finished third in the 200 in a time of 26.26.

Mac won the 1,500 in a time of 4:58.41, added a runner-up finish in the 3,000 in 10:42.34 and a third place finish in the 800 (2:26.3).

Jolie Nordell won the shot put (36-4) and was runner-up in the discus (115-3 ½) as Liberty High won four events.

Chelsea VeDepo was runner-up in the 400 (59.66) and fifth in the 800 and Ivy Nuro Gyina was fourth in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the 400 hurdles.

Liberty High was runner-up in the shuttle hurdle relay and third in both the sprint medley and distance medley relays.
