Cael Schramm won the high jump to highlight a strong performance in the field events for Liberty High as the Lightning finished third as a team at the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Divisional meet on Friday at Cedar Falls High School.

Schramm cleared 6-3 to win the high jump and finished third in the discus (147-4) as Liberty High racked up 113.5 points.

Host Cedar Falls won the team title with 198 points followed by Cedar Rapids Prairie with 160.5.

Dubuque Senior was fourth with 94 and Cedar Rapids Jefferson was fifth with 57.

Brady Cannon added a runner-up finish in the shot put (49-9 ½) while Victor Nakihinga was third in the high jump for Liberty High.

Aidan Decker was runner-up in the 1,600 in 4:27.97 and Keegan Decker was fourth in the 3,200 in 9:51.99.

Carter Meyers was third in the 400 (50.7) and Liberty High finished runner-up in both the 4×800 and distance medley relays.
