A strong start that includes three wins over ranked opponents and a two-match winning streak has propelled West High into the Class 3A girls soccer rankings.

West High (3-1) made its season debut in the rankings coming in at No. 14 in the rankings released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Thursday.

The Trojans have wins over 2A seventh-ranked North Scott and No. 11 Liberty High and a victory over 3A No. 15 Urbandale with their lone loss coming to seventh-ranked Southeast Polk.

West High is one of four Your Prep Sports area teams in the most recent rankings.

City High (3-1) moved up two spots to No. 13 in the Class 3A rankings.

Liberty High (3-1) remained No. 11 in the 2A rankings while Clear Creek Amana dropped two spots to No. 15 in 2A.

Top-ranked teams this week are Waukee Northwest in Class 3A, Dallas Center-Grimes in 2A and Davenport Assumption in 1A.
