Isaac Washpun and Dominic Roe each had strong days to lead City High at the West Des Moines Valley Invitational on Saturday in West Des Moines.

Washpun won the 110 hurdles and Roe was second in the event and both were members of the Little Hawks’ winning shuttle hurdle relay team to help City High to a seventh-place team finish with 55 points.

West Des Moines Dowling won the team title with 124 points followed by West Des Moines Valley and Waukee with 82 points.

Washpun won the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.89 while Roe was runner-up in 15.91.

The two helped the Little Hawk shuttle hurdle relay team to win in 1:00.8.

Washpun added a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 21-4 while Roe was seventh in the 400 hurdles in 1:01.62.

Tyler Rindels finished fifth in the discus with a mark of 136-0 and Miles Parlet was fifth in the long jump with a leap of 22-0.

AJ Wright finished sixth in the 100 in 11.51 and joined Parlet on the City High 4×100 team that was fourth in 43.67.
