City High Senior Kurtz Commits to Coe College for Wrestling and Baseball

Kael Kurtz has been a three-sport standout during a stellar prep career at City High.
In college Kurtz will be a two-sport athlete.
Kurtz announced he was committing to Coe College for both baseball and wrestling with a post on social media on Monday.
“I am excited to announce my commitment to Coe College to continue my academic and athletic career in wrestling and baseball,” Kurtz wrote on Instagram. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, friends and teammates for their unwavering support. So excited and thankful for this opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.”
Kurtz was a four-time state medalist in wrestling posting a career 117-20 record that included 27-5 mark last season as a senior.
After placing seventh at state as a freshman Kurtz posted three consecutive top-five finishes, capped by a fifth-place finish at the 3A state meet at 138 pounds this season.
On the baseball diamond Kurtz hit .203 with four double and six RBI last season while drawing 10 walks and scoring 14 runs.
A middle infielder, Kurtz stole five bases last season and had a .347 on-base percentage.
Kurta was also a starter in football last fall making 11.5 tackles and tying for the team lead with two interceptions from his safety spot.
