Solon won four relay titles and got an individual title from senior Gracie Federspiel while finishing runner-up at the Mount Vernon Relays on Thursday in Mount Vernon.

Host Mount Vernon won the team title with 176 points while Solon was runner-up with 137.3 followed by Marion with 68 and Clear Creek Amana with 56.3.

West Branch was seventh with 36 points.

Solon won titles in the 4×100, 4×200, sprint medley and distance medley relays and Federspiel won the 800 title in 2:23.95.

The Spartans had four individual runner-up finishes as Abigail Felton finished second in the shot put, Kate Shafer was runner-up in the discus, Piper Stahle was second in the 100 and Trea Eidahl was second in the 400 hurdles.

Clear Creek Amana got a runner-up finish from Elizabeth Timmerman in the long jump on its way to a fourth-place team finish.

The Clippers were also runner-up in the 4×200 relay.

West Branch was led by freshman Grace Hamann who won the 1,500 in a time of 5:09.03 and added a runner-up finish in the 800.
