State Champions Clear Creek Amana and Solon Each Have Two Players Named to IGCA All-State Teams

Clear Creek Amana and Solon both left Des Moines last week with the most important piece of hardware you can earn – a state championship trophy.
On Monday both teams began to rake in the individual postseason honors following their state title runs.
Class 4A state champion Clear Creek Amana and Class 3A champ Solon each had a pair of players earn all-state honors on Monday when the Iowa Girls Coaches Association released its all-state teams.
Solon seniors Callie Levin and Hailey Miller each earned all-state honors in Class 3A team while Clear Creek Amana senior Ava Locklear and sophomore Averie Lower were 4A all-state selections to highlight a list of six Your Prep Sports area athletes named to all-state teams.
Clear Creek Amana head coach PJ Sweeney was named 4A coach of the year while Solon coach Jamie Smith was tabbed the 3A coach of the year.
Locklear was a first-team selection in Class 4A while Lower was named to the 4A second-team after helping Clear Creek Amana to a 26-0 season that ended with a win over Waverly-Shell Rock in the 4A title game.
The captain of the 4A all-tournament team, Locklear averaged a double-double of the season with 12.1 points and 10.7 rebounds and also led the Clippers in assists (4.2) and blocked shots (2.1) per game.
Locklear shot 47 percent from the floor and 72 percent from the free throw line.
Lower earned second-team all-state honors after a stellar sophomore season in which she led Clear Creek Amana in scoring at 17.7 points per game to go with 5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.2 assists.
The 5-foot-11 Lower ranked fourth in 4A in field goal percentage (58.2) and was second in 3-pointers made with 89.
Lower led Class 4A in both 3-point percentage (49.7) and free throw percentage (86.1).
Levin and Miller were both first-team picks in Class 3A after leading Solon to a 24-3 record and the first title since 1998.
An Iowa recruit, Levin earned first-team all-state honors from the IGCA for the fourth straight season.
Levin ranked third in 3A in scoring at 22 points per game and led Solon with 4.8 steals and 4.5 assists and ranked second on the team with 6.9 rebounds per game.
Miller earned first-team all-state honors for the first time after averaging 13.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
Regina junior Morgan Miller was a first-team pick in Class 2A and West High sophomore Grace Fincham was named to the Class 5A third-team.
A second-team selection in 2A last season as a sophomore Miller earned first-team honors for the first time in her career after leading the Regals to a 19-5 record and a spot in a 2A regional final.
Miller led Regina in points (19.5), assists (3.8) and steals (3.9) and ranked third on the team with 4.9 rebounds per game.
Fincham earned all-state honors for the first time after leading West High with 15.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the floor.
The 5-foot-11 Fincham also averaged 2 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
