Solon Senior Levin, Clear Creek Amana Sophomore Lower Named WAMAC Division Players of the Year

Solon senior Callie Levin completed her run as WAMAC divisional player of the year on Wednesday while Clear Creek Amana sophomore Averie Lower may just be starting her own stretch of divisional player of the year domination.
Levin was named WAMAC East Division play of the year for the fourth consecutive season on Wednesday when the league released its postseason honors while Lower was named West Division player of the year for the first time.
The fourth straight player of the year award for Levin highlighted six Solon players that earned all-division honors after the Spartans went 13-3 against WAMAC competition including an 8-2 mark in East Division games.
Senior guard Hailey Miller joined Levin as a unanimous first-team selection in the East Division while seniors Mia Stahle and Anna Quillin were each second-team picks.
Junior Kobi Lietz and sophomore Delainey Durr each earned honorable mentions honors in the East Division.
Levin earned player of the year honors after leading the Spartans in scoring (22.4), assists (4.5) and steals (5.1) and ranking second on the team in rebounding (7.2).
The 5-foot-9 Levin shot 44 percent from the floor including 39 percent from 3-point range and 77 percent from the free throw line.
Miller earned unanimous first team honors after averaging a career-high 13.5 points per game to go with 3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2 steals.
Quillin was a second-team pick after leading the Spartans with 8.9 rebounds per game to go with 4.7 points and 1.6 steals per game.
Stahle also earned second team honors after averaging 6.9 points, 3 steals and 2.5 assists per game.
Lower earned West Division player of the year honors following a breakthrough season in which she led Clear Creek Amana in scoring with 17.6 points per game.
The 5-foot-11 sophomore shot 59 percent from the field, including 49 percent (73-of-149) from 3-point range and 87 percent (27-of-31) from the free throw line.
Lower also averaged 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.1 assists per game.
Led by Lower Clear Creek Amana had seven players earn all-division honors.
Senior forward Ava Locklear joined Lower as a unanimous first-team all-West Division selection while senior forward Bliss Beck was also named to the West Division first team.
Seniors Sam Schrage and Kaylee Stratton were each named to the West Division second team and sophomores Kennedy Stratton and Lena Evans each earned honorable mention honors in the West Division.
Locklear was a first-team pick after averaging a double-double with 11.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
The 5-foot-11 Locklear also averaged 4.1 assists and 2 blocked shots per game while shooting 46 percent from the floor.
Beck averaged 9.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game and led Class 4A in field goal percentage and 64 percent.
Kaylee Stratton averaged 3.5 points, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game while Schrage averaged 5.5 points 2.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.
