Solon took the first step toward a second consecutive state tournament appearance on Saturday with a 78-22 win over Fairfield in a Class 3A, Region 5 quarterfinal in Solon.

Class 3A third-ranked Solon improved to 19-3 with the win while Fairfield closed the season 3-17.

Solon will host Davis County (10-12) in a Region 5 semifinal on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Callie Levin led three Solon players in double figures with 20 points while Hailey Miller had 19 points for the Spartans.

Kobi Lietz had 10 points and Mia Stahle, Delainey Durr and Laney Johnson all had seven points for Solon.
