Clear Creek Amana had a slightly disappointing outing in another otherwise exceptional season its last time out with an opening-round loss at the regional dual meet last week.
The Clippers more than made up for that performance on Saturday.
Clear Creek Amana qualified 11 wrestlers for the state meet and finished runner-up as a team in a strong effort at the Class 3A, District 2 meet at Bettendorf High School.
Jack Stevens won a district title at 150 pounds and five other Clippers finished runner-up as Clear Creek Amana racked up 179.5 points to finish behind only second-ranked Bettendorf which won the team title with 246 points.
City High was third with 166.5 points followed by Fort Madison with 100 and Davenport Central with 64.5.
The 11 qualifiers for Clear Creek Amana includes five multi-time qualifiers and is three more qualifiers than the Clippers had last season.
