Clear Creek Amana Takes Over Top Spot in IGHSAU Class 4A Girls Basketball Rankings

Clear Creek Amana is the new top-ranked team in Class 4A.
One of only two remaining unbeaten teams in Class 4A the Clippers took over the top spot in the 4A girls basketball rankings for the first time this season in the most recent rankings released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Thursday.
Clear Creek Amana (14-0) replaces previously top-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes and is followed by Waverly-Shell Rock (16-0) Sioux City Heelan (12-1) Dallas Center-Grimes (12-3) and North Polk (14-2) in the 4A top five.
The Clippers have wins over 3A top-ranked Mount Vernon and 1A top-ranked North Linn as well as victories over 3A fifth-ranked Solon, 3A eighth-ranked Benton Community and 5A No. 15 West High.
Solon, Regina and West High all remained in the rankings this week.
Solon (12-3) dropped from the top spot in Class 3A to fifth this week following losses to Mount Vernon and 4A No. 11 Marion.
Mount Vernon (15-1) is the new top-ranked team in 3A followed by Des Moines Christian (13-1), Estherville Lincoln Central (14-2) and Roland-Story (14-0).
Regina (13-3) dropped from fourth to sixth in the Class 2A rankings while West High (8-6) dropped one spot from No. 14 to No. 15 in the 5A rankings.
Other top-ranked teams this week are Johnston in Class 5A and Dike-New Hartford in Class 2A.
