Three-time State Champion Hoeper Commits to Indiana

One of the best swimmers in the state has settled on her collegiate future.
Solon junior Grace Hoeper who swims for City High announced her verbal commitment to Indiana with a post on social media on Monday.
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to Indiana University to further my academic and athletic career,” Hoeper wrote on Instagram. “I want to thank my parents, coaches and teammates for getting me to where I am. I can’t wait for what’s next.”
After winning a state title in the 50 meter freestyle as a sophomore in 2022 Hoeper established herself as one of the best swimmers in the state with a breakthrough junior season last fall.
Hoeper won a pair of state titles, taking home gold in the 50 and 100 freestyle while helping the City High 200 freestyle relay team to an eighth-place finish at the state meet.
Hoeper won the 50 freestyle in a time of 23.44 and won the 100 freestyle in 50.27.
During her breakthrough junior season Hoeper had the fastest time in the state in both the 50 and 100 freestyle and had the second fastest time in the 100 butterfly.
Hoeper also had top-five teams in the state in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle.
The 2023 Mississippi Valley Conference athlete of the year, Hoeper holds City High school records in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle.
