Shaona Emmanuel and Molly Carlson each won individual titles to help City High to a ninth-place team finish at the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament on Saturday at Cedar Rapids Prairie High School.

Emmauel won the 155-pound title and Carlson won gold at 170 pounds to highlight three top-three finishers for City High.

Cedar Falls won the team title with 279.5 points followed by host Cedar Rapids Prairie with 162 and Cedar Rapids Kennedy with 148.

Liberty High was eighth with 93 followed by City High with 90 while West High was 11^th with 71 points.

Emmanuel (31-7) went 4-0 on her way to the 155-pound title, winning three-matches by fall including a second-period pin of Dubuque Hempstead’s Paige Howieson in the title match.

Carlson gave City High back-to-back champions when she pinned Elizabeth Mills of Cedar Falls in 5:57 in the 170-pound championship.

Carlson (26-10) went 3-0 with two pins and a major decision on her way to the title.

Freshman Eliza Mitchell (23-16) finished third at 105 pounds for City High while Nina Peterson was fifth at 140 pounds.

Annabelle Stelpflug finished seventh at 145 and Tali Clements was eighth at 190 for the Little Hawks.

Liberty High had eight wrestlers finish in the top eight on Saturday led by Evelyn Eggleston who finished runner-up at 135 pounds.

Eggleston (26-5) went 2-1 on her way to the runner-up finish at 135 falling to top-ranked Bella Miller of Dubuque Wahlert in the title match.

Taylor Cavanh and Kensie Steele each finished for the Lightning.

Cavanh (25-4) finished third at 105 pounds for the Lightning and Steele (22-8) was third at 170 pounds.

Naoni Davisson finished fifth at 110, Harper Johnson was sixth at 125 and Abigail Carr was sixth at 235 for Liberty High

Reese Christoph finished seventh at 190 and Kaitlyn Raue was eighth at 130 pounds.

West High had five top-eight finishes on Saturday led by a trip of third-place finishers.

Trinity Myers (21-13) finished third at 120 pounds, Helen Orszula (25-14) finished third at 125 pounds and Peyten Van Dyke (23-10) placed third at 145 pounds.

Sylvia Brofitt added a fourth-place finish at 135 for West High and Xuvia Stevenson placed eighth at 110 pounds.
