Boys Wrestling Roundup: Lima Reaches 100-Win Mark as Liberty High Finishes Runner-up at Denny Christenson Invitational

Vincenzo Lima became the first wrestler in Liberty High history to reach 100 wins on Saturday on his way to the winning an individual title at the Denny Christenson Invitational in Anamosa.
Lima went 5-0 on his way to the 215-pound title on Saturday while reaching the 100-win mark for his career.
The senior 215-pounder had four pins and a tech fall in his five victories on Saturday including a first-period pin of Grant Henderson of Sumner-Fredericksburg in the title match.
Lima improved to 22-2 on the season with the five wins on Saturday and highlighted four Liberty High wrestlers that reached the finals.
Landon Bell added an individual title at 157 pounds and Gavin Benton was runner-up at 175 as Liberty High finished runner-up as a team with 200 points.
Host Anamosa had four champions and won the team title with 237 points.
Bell (23-5) went 5-0 on Saturday to win the 157-pound title, winning an 8-6 decision over Cascade’s Ty Frasher in the title match.
Benton (23-5) went 4-1 on Saturday in a runner-up finish at 175 pounds falling to top-ranked Austin Scranton of Anamosa in the championship.
Blake DuBois (10-5) went 2-1 on his way to a runner-up finish at 285 pounds falling to 1A second-ranked Cody Fox of East Buchanan in the title match.
Benjamin Rosen was third at 113 pounds, Tien Pham finished fourth at 144 pounds and Finn O’Toole was fourth at 150 pounds.
Connor McGonegle finished fifth at 106 pounds, Pryor Reiners was fifth at 132 and Ethan Barber was fifth at 190 pounds.
Mason Karam was sixth at 138, Konstantinos Panos was sixth at 120 and Kristos Panos was sixth at 126 while Carter Bevins was eighth at 165.
