Boys Basketball Roundup: Liberty High Falls to Waukee Northwest in MVC-CIML Showdown

Waukee Northwest sprinted to an early 18-point lead and rolled to a 74-36 win over Liberty High on Saturday in the ServPro MVC-CIML Showdown at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids.
Liberty High dropped to 3-5 on the season with the loss while Waukee Northwest improved to 5-6 on the season with the win.
Trey Hughes led Liberty High with 13 points, three rebounds and two assists and Jeremiah Washpun had eight points for the Lightning.
Shea Sanders had six rebounds and Gage Kampman had four points for Liberty High.
Andrew Cose had a game-high 16 points to lead Waukee Northwest while Maverick Inman had 15 points and Grant Tigges had 11 points for the Wolves.
