Solon held off West Branch 62-53 on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup in Solon.

The Spartans improved to 5-0 on the season with the win while West Branch dropped to 4-3.

Jake Benzing had 28 points and five rebounds to lead Solon while Gehrig Turner had 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Vince Steinbrech had 12 points, four rebounds and four steals and Rylen Stiegelmeyer had four points and four assists.

Reese Trepanier had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead West Branch while Holden Arnaman had 19 points and five assists.

Brennen Dale had two points, four assists and five steals and Michael Montgomery had four points and four rebounds for the Bears.
