Alexander Pierce won an individual title to highlight three top-three finishes for West High at the Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic on Friday and Saturday at Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs.

Pierce won the 113-pound title while Kyler Scranton was runner-up at 175 pounds and Justin Avila was third at 150 pounds leading the Trojans to an 11^th place team finish at the 43-team, two-day meet.

Pierce went 6-0 on his way to the 113-pound crown securing the title with a 3-2 decision over Cadyn Coyle of Bennington, Nebraska.

Scranton went 7-1 en route to his runner-up finish at 175 pounds dropping the title match to Drew Moser of Waverly, Nebraska 6-3.

Avila went 6-1 and placed third at 150 pounds falling to eventual champion Logan Glynn of Millard South, Nebraska in the semifinals.

Charles Barnhouse went 4-4 and finished 12^th at 106 pounds for the Trojans while Matthrew Tran went 5-2 and placed sixth at 120 pounds.

West High finished with 231 points, just behind 10^th place Columbus, Nebraska with 234.5.

Waukee Northwest won the team title with 427 points followed by Fort Dodge with 416.5 and Lincoln East, Nebraska with 307.5.
