Liberty High dropped its season-opening Mississippi Valley Conference dual to Cedar Rapids Xavier on Thursday falling to the Saints 45-29 in Cedar Rapids.

Benjamin Rosen (113), Pryor Reiners (138) and Mason Karam (144) all won by fall for the Lightning while Landon Bell won a 22-6 tech fall at 165 pounds for Liberty High.

The Lightning got a win by forfeit at 106 in the loss.
