Girls Basketball Roundup: Regina Gets Road Win at 4A No. 14 Maquoketa in Season Opener

Regina opened the season with an impressive road win downing Class 4A No. 14 Maquoketa 66-60 on Tuesday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Maquoketa.
Class 2A fourth-ranked Regina (1-0) jumped to a 40-21 halftime lead and held on while Maquoketa dropped to 2-2 on the season.
Morgan Miller had a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds for Regina and added three assists and two steals.
Senior Alli Clark had 19 points and four rebounds for the Regals while Ella McLaughlin added 11 points and two assists.
Caitlin Martin had six points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals for Regina as the Regals shot 51 percent from the floor including 7-of-16 from 3-point range.
