Josie Durr
Solon graduate and current Iowa senior Josie Durr scored a goal in overtime to help Iowa to a 2-0 win over Bucknell on Friday in the opening round of the NCAA Soccer Tournament in Iowa City.
The win was the second NCAA tournament win for Iowa (13-4-4) which will face Georgia in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Friday at 1 p.m. in Clemson, South Carolina.
Durr leads Iowa wit seven goals and is tied for the team lead with 16 points this season.
Rose Nkumu
Former City High standout and current Marquette senior guard Rose Nkumu had a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists in an 84-51 win over UT Martin on Monday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Nkumu made all five of her field goal attempts including 2-of-2 from 3-point range and added four blocked shots, three steals and two rebounds in the win.
On the season Nkumu is averaging 12 points and 6.5 assists per game for 2-0 Marquette.
Adam Bock
Solon graduate and current South Dakota State senior linebacker Adam Bock had a team-high seven tackles in a 34-0 win at Youngstown State on Saturday.
Bock had a sack among his seven tackles as top-ranked South Dakota State improved to 10-0 on the season and 7-0 in conference while securing at least a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference title.
On the season Bock has 29 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks in five games.
