Cael Fiderlein
Former West Branch standout and current Central College junior linebacker Cael Fiderlein had a big day on Saturday to help the Dutch to a 56-22 win over Buena Vista in Pella.
Fiderlein had seven tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and returned an interception 26 yards as Central College improved to 7-2 on the season and 5-2 in American Rivers Conference games.
On the season Fiderlein ranks third on the team with 48 tackles, including three for loss, and has forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble and intercepted two passes.
Liam McComas
City High graduate and current Northern Iowa junior tight end Liam McComas had a pair of receptions on Saturday in a 50-6 win over Western Illinois at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound McComas caught two passes for 25 yards in the win as the Panthers improved to 6-3 on the season and 5-1 in Missouri Valley Football Conference games.
The 5-1 conference start is the first for Northern Iowa since 2019.
Brendan Mott
Former West High standout and current Kansas State senior defensive end Brandon Mott came up with some key plays for the Wildcats in a 33-30 overtime loss at Texas on Saturday.
Mott had a tackle for loss, forced fumble and added a pass breakup in in the loss as Kansas State dropped to 6-3 on the season.
On the season the 6-foot-5, 244-pound Mott has 17 tackles with 4 tackles for loss, a sack, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups.
